吳若昕
1993年出生於台北，臺灣
吳若昕是一位視覺藝術家，其創作橫跨繪畫、插畫與手繪動畫等多種媒材。她擁有英國皇家藝術學院視覺傳播碩士學位與台北藝術大學動畫學士學位。她的創作靈感源於個人經歷與感受，特別是她的童年時光，並涉及時間、空間和記憶等主題。她的作品曾於美國、西班牙、法國、英國、韓國、新加坡及台灣等地展出。近年的重要個展包括南韓 Eligere 藝廊的《Gentle Like Water》、西班牙 Villazan 藝廊的《Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow》、新加坡 Cuturi 藝廊的《Sunlight, Air and Water》，以及台南水色藝術的《Lizard & Lullaby》。
吳若昕的創作風格甜美中帶著苦澀，在夢幻與詭譎之間搖擺不定。她筆下純真的孩童形象背後，往往隱藏著令人不適的情感與潛在的威脅。她的作品經常以黑色作為基底，並運用低飽和度的色彩與層疊的壓克力顏料，讓圖像逐層在畫布上浮現，宛如記憶的浮現與消逝。她的畫作中常見人物形象，但她避免描繪真實存在的對象，而是透過這些角色的輪廓來表達情感。
藝術家曾如此闡述她的創作方式：「生命中有些時刻會永遠留在我們心中。我並不試圖重現這些場景，因為記憶是個人的。我希望捕捉那些時刻的情感與氛圍，也許是透過描繪一個眼神，或者捕捉空氣中的水氣。」
Ruo-Hsin Wu is a London-based Taiwanese visual artist who focuses on painting, drawing, and handmade animation. She holds a BA in Animation from Taipei National University of the Arts and a MA in Visual Communication from Royal College of Art. Her work is usually driven by her personal experience, dealing with time, space, and memory, especially her childhood. Each piece of her work is a non-linear story made of fragments from the world around her.
Her signature style often contrasts against dark or white backgrounds, employing the softness of charcoal, the depth of paint, and the delicacy of pencil to convey the complexity of inner feelings. Storytelling in Wu’s work encourages empathetic communication, transforming personal and social issues into intimate experiences that convey complex emotions often difficult to articulate.
